Vans Knu Skool
Challenge
Vans set out to relaunch the classic Old Skool with a bold, modern twist. The challenge was to create a campaign that honored the shoe’s '90s skate heritage while introducing its exaggerated design elements — like oversized laces, a puffed tongue, and chunky collar — to a new generation of consumers.
Approach
We led the art direction and development of all digital assets, crafting a visual story that celebrated the Knu Skool’s expressive, oversized aesthetic. Our creative approach drew inspiration from the skate culture roots of the original design while giving it a fresh, contemporary edge.
Outcome
The launch exceeded expectations, driving positive revenue growth in North America on Vans.com and generating excitement across social and digital channels. The Knu Skool quickly became a standout silhouette, connecting with both nostalgic fans and a new wave of consumers.
